Training HandbookLearner Selection and OrientationLearners wishing to undertake training in Community Services need to meet/satisfy the following criteria: 1. Demonstrated verbal interest in and suitability for work in Community Services. 2. To undertake a language, literacy and numeracy assessment to identify any assistance required. 3. Should any programs have a limit on the number of participants an interview may be arranged to identify suitable participants There are no educational prerequisites however successful completion of year 10 or equivalent is recommended. Youth Training (Victoria) (suspended)16 to 18 year olds under the youth allowance (jobseeker) scheme through Centrelink. Learners need to be approved by their local Centrelink Customer Service Centre. Priority Education Training ProgramPriority Education and Training Programs are funded annually with funds made available by the Government of Victoria for existing workers or new entrants wanting to work in the industry. Recognition of Current CompetenciesRecognition of Current Competencies is a streamlined process of assessment of the competencies that a person has gained through life, work and formal study. Funded Traineeship:Need to have been employed in a Childrens Service full time for under 3 months or part-time/casual for under 12 months. Fee for Service TraineeshipFor staff who do not fit into the above funded traineeship criteria a fee for service arrangement can be made for a certificate level. Self Funded TrainingFor any person wishing to train that does not fall into any of the above training /assessment programs. VET in SchoolsFor any learner undertaking VCAL, that the school has indicated One World for Children as the RTO Enrolment and Orientation:
