What happens if my child has an accident?
Fortunately serious accidents are few and far between, however children do still have the occasional accident - especially when they are developing walking, running and climbing skills. If this occurs, the appropriate first aid treatment is administered - often an ice-pack and comforting. The appropriate accident report will be completed by the educator and you will be notified of the accident either by telephone or when you collect your child.
Educators are required to maintain the HLTAID004 - provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting (including CPR, Asthma and Anaphalaxis) qualification, so in the event of a serious accident, you can be confident that the Educators know what to do. Should urgent medical treatment be required an ambulance will be called.
